This week in the AT&T Classroom
Longcoy fourth graders have been using digital tools for computing with whole numbers.
They have been using online resources at Online Math Learning and using the Educreations app to collaborative solve problems and communicate their findings with their iPads
Lippman second graders have been focusing on the creation of digital stories for enhancing students’ literacy skills (e.g., reading, writing, speaking & listening) and for targeting the “4Cs of 21st century skills” — critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Listed below are the apps and programs the children are using to create their stories:
ABCYa Paint is a free multimedia program that can be
used to create pictures and stories using drawing/paint tools or by selecting
from a variety of backgrounds, scenes, characters, & stickers.
iStopMotion can be used to create stop motion
animations on an iPad or itouch.
Kerpoof is a free multimedia program that allows
students to create animation & digital stories by using drawing tools or
selecting from a variety of backgrounds, scenes, characters, & stickers
Photostory is a free MS application that allows you to
create a multimedia presentation using digital photos and adding text and
audio.
Puppet Pals is a free iPad app that allows you to create your own unique shows with animation and audio
in real time.
Sock Puppet is a free app that can be used to create
lip-synced videos to share on Facebook or YouTube.
Toontastic is a free iPad app that allows children to
draw, animate, and share cartoons. Once they are
done creating, Toontastic will play back their animation and voice as a cartoon
to be shared online via ToonTube, Toontastic’s Global Storytelling Network.
